[smart_track_player url=”http://traffic.libsyn.com/tiffandjack/048_-_Loving_and_Letting_Go_Motherhood_-_5-13-18_7.00_PM.mp3″ ]This episode is dedicated to being a mother, one of the hardest and most joyful journeys of life. Motherhood is about loving and letting go. You grow in your capacity to love as you learn to let go of your expectations of what and who your kids are “supposed” to be. The fact is, our children aren’t here to live the life we think they should live, they’re here to march to the beat of their own drum…and this is where letting go will save you.
Tiff’s tribute to being a Mother
Motherhood means so many things.
Motherhood means loving and letting go.
Loving the journey in spite of sleepless nights.
Worry and constant wondering if the kids know how important they are while at the same time you’re letting go of doing things perfectly because you’re realizing how many things you’ve screwed up on. 😉
It means loving yourself even when your kids don’t need your thoughts and opinions anymore and letting go of the idea that you are not the center of their universe forever.
It means loving the good and the scary while letting go of ideal picture you have in your mind.
I take being “Mom” seriously. It is the deepest and most sacred experience I have in this life. It has changed everything about me. It has quite literally propelled me right into my calling as Goddess!
As a Mother I have learned so many things. The most important of which is to just love them as they create their lives. Their lives are not ours. Having personal expectation on our children is pointless and damaging. They are here to design their own life. It is beautiful and messy. It is perfect.
My favorite part of being a Mother is when I get to look in their eyes and see the truth of them and remind them when they forget! And they will forget.
I am honored to be the Matriarch of this family that Jack and I have created. The only thing better is getting to do it again which our grand babies.
Happy Mother’s Day!
