There’s not one person on this planet that wants to consider themselves as being passive-aggressive. It smacks of the negative, through and through.
I have a question for you.. have you EVER said, “yes, I’d love to do that,” while on the inside you KNOW that there’s no way on god’s green earth you’re going to? Me too.
Thank god, when you know better, you do better. And having my hidden passive aggressiveness shoved out into the light has given me a strong resolve to be mindful of all the ways I show up in the world.
I hope you learn some amazing things as you listen.
And if you feel triggered… don’t worry, I did too. 😉
How can you accept yourself when you don’t know how?
Now let’s be clear, this episode isn’t about self-esteem. It’s about self-acceptance… which means you’re accepting the good AND the “bad.”
The best news of all is that there really is no such thing as “bad.” Self-acceptance is unconditional. It means we can recognize our weaknesses or limitations without it interfering with our ability to fully accept ourselves.
There’s no reason at all why you can’t decide to accept yourself, because we’re here to help you do it!
As Tiff and I were driving home from working out at the gym, we decided on today’s topic.
Life for us these days is filled to the brim so we have to be extra mindful to find balance between all of the work and also having some time to relax and rejuvenate.
When you listen to the podcast it’s like the 3 of us (you, me and Tiff) are living our lives together. The things we share are part of the day-to-day experience we’re having. It’s awesome having you here with us.
Because life is whacky busy for us right now, we’re talking about slowing down and balancing the work out with some light-hearted fun. Which if we don’t do that, we very well could end up losing it!
Here’s a quick bird’s-eye-view of how to slow down a bit so that you can enjoy today (and not just wait until you’ve finished the proverbial “race to the finish line,” thinking THEN you’ll finally be able to slow down… if you don’t figure out how to find some balance today, chances are tomorrow, may not happen 🤭):
Identify your own personal brand of “rat race.” (First you must know where you’re at, in order to be, do or have, something different.)
Realize that FEAR could be the driver, pushing you to work longer and harder without taking some R&R. And this fear, is coming from the past OR the future (neither of which are happening now).
Focus on the NOW. Get present with this very moment. How are you feeling (name it)? And then focus on what you’re grateful for (one of the fastest ways to change your “state” instantly).
Make a plan and decide ahead of time what it is you want for yourself today.
Change things up a bit. Use a different toothpaste. Drive a different way to work. Any time you do something new, it gets you in the present moment quickly and also opens your brain up to new thoughts bigger possibilities.
And here’s a great little daily exercise I learned from Gabby Bernstein. Answer these 4 questions each day:
What do I want today?
How do I want to feel today?
What do I want to give today?
What do I want to receive today?
Thanks for listening to our show. And we do hope it’s making a positive difference in your day.
Are you sick and tired of feeling TOO sensitive, as if there’s something “wrong” with you? Today’s episode exposes the lies you may be believing, so that you can feel more at ease with yourself and your sensitive nature.
I know that one of the main reasons Tiff actually went through 14 rounds of ECT (electro shock therapy) so many years ago was because she was searching for answers to her wild sensitivities, emotional ups-and-downs, and feeling so damn overwhelmed.
We want you to be able to wrap your arms around yourself, sensitivity and all. It’s time for you to stop being kicked around by the myths and stories being told about you.
