Thinking deeply about all that is going on in our part of the world . . . the fires, the Delta variant, hospitals at max capacity, a shortage of workers in many industries, and so on.
As I think of all the people being affected by these situations I feel deeply the fear and anger rising.
Fear and anger won’t ever be long term solutions, but they do wake people up to a bigger decision to create change. They springboard us to new ideas that help, and more thoughtful decisions for the whole, instead of just the self.
We are in this together.
We are family.
We are all connected to each other at all times.
There is no changing that.
Dear earth family, it is time we learn the lessons we are being called to learn.
It’s time to love not just ourselves, but everyone.
We must ask ourselves, “What can I do to help my neighbor? What gift can I offer my friends? What can I do in my community and in the world to help Bring health and comfort?”
If we will ask ourself these questions and follow our true heart, we will eradicate the traumas around us.
We are a team and must work together for the good of the whole.
When was the last time you experienced pleasure? I mean really felt the overwhelming feeling of joy?
The word “PLEASURE” was a major trigger word for me.
I thought if I had “PLEASURE” it would make me selfish, carnal, worldly, devilish…BAD!
I had to let go of my Puritanical point of view and belief system that came from my DNA and my religious/family upbringing so that I could actually enjoy my life.
In fact, I remember a certain family member telling me that I need to live a certain way and that I need to be brave enough to break my own heart. To me, that just felt wrong. So… I chose to fill my heart with joy!
I’ve always been known to be quite irreverent and the kind of person that follows the beat of my own drum. I tried to be more conforming and proper but I just couldn’t do it. I tried not to swear and express myself in a passionate way, but it just wouldn’t happen. I tried to not laugh at inappropriate things, but laughter screams from my lips on a daily basis. My irreverence, passionate expression and laughter are simply part of who I am and those things bring a lot of pleasure into my life. And to the lives of others for that matter.
Why are we trying to conform to what others say is proper or quiet? Why are we worried about what others think? Why are we avoiding pleasure?!
I was talking to my dear friend Sally Ostler. We were discussing how people live in Spain. I loved hearing that they live lives of pleasure and rest. Of course they work but it’s not their focus. They eat amazing food, drink amazing wine and connect with each other in their families and with their friends. They’re not afraid to nap or spend the day at the beach. They simply live in pleasure. It brought deep comfort to my soul as we discussed it. It felt as though God was whispering, “This is the truth of life!”
Many of you know that Jack and I have much fun and pleasure in our life because we share it here on Facebook. The amazing thing is that the more fun and pleasure we experience the more our business grows. Isn’t that amazing?
The more joy we have in our life the more prosperous we become.
We all have amazing bodies that have the ability to experience pleasure on the deepest level. So let’s experience it shall we?
Just laughter alone can change your entire life. When is the last time that you laughed? I mean a belly laugh where you couldn’t stop?
When is the last time you ate what you wanted and really enjoyed the variety of flavor?
When is the last time that you sat down with friends and connected deeply in the present moment without guilt or worry that you should be doing something else?
When was the last time you had a glass of wine that enhanced the flavor of your food?
When is the last time that you relaxed enough to connect to your partner and have an amazing sexual experience that left you feeling restful and in a state of bliss?
When is the last time you took time out for yourself to do something that you really loved?
When is the last time you took a nap?
When is the last time you didn’t feel guilty about something?
When is the last time that you kissed your lover and talked about your secret fantasies?
When is the last time that you drove fast in your car and listened to loud music?
When is the last time you acted silly without feeling immature?
When is the last time you danced?
When is the last time you made work secondary to pleasure?
It is time for us all to move into lives of pleasure and joy. We were designed to live this way. Stress, shame, guilt, worry are all emotions that cause our bodies to break down and become sick and unhappy. Why in the Hell do we think this is OK?
During this holiday season I suggest that you start adding a little more pleasure and joy into your life experience. If you do this I will promise you’ll feel better, healthier and you’ll become more prosperous.
One of the most important things I do for myself each day is to connect to my center.
You may wonder what I mean when I say “connect to my center.” To me, it means the place within, where the noisy distractions that are constantly reminding me of all the things I should be afraid of or what I SHOULD be doing…just go away and I’m left with nothing but my connection to Source.
This place feels warm, loving, and incredibly relaxing. There’s absolutely no “shoulding” in this place.
Life can get so hectic and busy, which distracts us from being centered and present in the moment.
When I’m centered my life feels smooth and easy.
My feathers don’t get ruffled quite as easily.
My breathing is so much easier.
My physical pain goes down, my blood pressure is in a healthy range and my resting heart rate looks like I’m an athlete. How’s that for awesome??!
If you’re seasoned at meditating you know exactly what I’m talking about, however, if you’re like most, the monkey chatter makes it seem like an impossible dream.
Well, we have great news for you…Deepak and Oprah have been doing 21 Day Free Meditation Courses every few months for the last couple of years, and it just-so-happens that they have a new one starting on October 31! 🙂
Until you get started on this meditation, we have a very simple way for you to begin today.
When you’re in the shower or tub, be with the water. Smell the deliciousness of your body wash. Get present and find a spark of joy in the moment. This is a form of meditation too…and anyone can do it.
It’s as simple as being present with the moment you’re in. There’s always something here, in this moment, that can spark joy in you. Pay attention and you’ll feel it.
Stop right now wherever you are, get quiet and look around you, when your eyes capture something, stop there, look at it and feel the gratitude bubble up inside of you for this “thing.”
There…you just meditated. 🙂
Sending you love,

This morning I feel called to write. I’m sitting on the couch, wrapped up in a blanket trying to overcome this nasty head cold that has me down for the count. Even still… I feel called to write.
I humbly ask God to impress upon my mind what needs to be read.
What keeps coming to me is my absolute knowing that life is meant to be a joy-filled experience. And I know the only way this can happen is if we remember who we really are and live from that place.
For the first years of our lives we are being conditioned by the people that love us and by the institutions we associate with. We are being told continually who we are, and how we need to be. So… we then began to live from other’s expectations.
Between the ages of 30 and 40, many of us feel fatigued, sick and unhappy. This is when we begin to ask the real questions.
We ask ourselves, “What is going on and why hasn’t life turned out the way I thought it would?” ” Who am I really?” “What is my purpose on this planet ?” “Do I even have a purpose?” ” What do I want out of life?” “There has to be more to life than this, right?” “God are you really there?”
These are the very questions that awaken you to the spiritual journey of coming to the center of your own soul and remembering who you really are!
Some people call this a midlife crisis, I call this a “Walk with God”. Now “God” is quite a relative term so I’ll just share what God is to me …God is the ever-present Power of joy and love on this planet.
When you wake up from the conditioned sleep of other’s expectations, you begin to have strong desires to experience new things that you haven’t allowed yourself before.
In your youth there was a time when you would rebel against your parents, but the rebellion I’m talking about is when you decide to rebel against your self imposed set of rules and regulations. This is where you throw caution to the wind, and say “Fuck It! I’m done trying to be perfect!”
I call this your “Fuck It” day!
This is a very important day.
This is the day when you begin to create consciously.
This is the day when you begin to allow yourself to have experiences so you can decide what feels the best for you.
This is the day when God whispers into your soul that there’s much more to life than living according to other’s expectations.
This is the day you wake up to your unrestrained REAL self.
This journey will take some time but little by little, experience by experience, you begin to understand that you too are here to live a joyous life by just being you.
You begin to see that what you’ve been missing all this time was your magnificent self.
Now don’t get me wrong, there are those that choose to stay asleep all of their life out of resistance to what is possible, but more and more I’m seeing people wake up to the possibility of joy.
And I do believe if you’re reading this, you’re one of those people.
Once you live from your real self, you notice that all the things you truly wanted in life will easily flow to you.
Wakey wakey my friends, life is about the journey not the destination. Buckle up because life just gets better and better.
