We’re serious about living our lives in a way that feels amazing…whether it’s the way we run our business, how we interact with friends, what we do as a family, or the little things such as where we love to go for walks. Everything we do is done with our attention and whether or not it feels good to us.

When we do something that doesn’t feel good, it’s a fantastic opportunity to realize we’ll choose something different next time.

I’ve been feeling the urge to get our house in order and clear out the clutter.

Jack went out and bought me the Fly Lady book and as he was buying it the person at the cash register asked him is he had heard about the book, “The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up” and told him it was selling like hotcakes. Of course Jack had to walk over and do a little reading (he LOVES to read) and quickly realized this was a book he needed to bring home to me.

We started reading it and quickly realized that this book was no accident and fit beautifully with how we live our lives.

The first thing we had to do was make a pile in the middle of the living room with every single piece of clothing, shoes, bags, purses, coats, etc. that we owned. Talk about a HUGE pile. Just seeing how much stuff we have was shocking. Picking up every single item, holding it in our hands, and asking ourselves, “Does this spark joy when I wear/use it?” If the answer was anything less than a resounding YES, it had to be released and donated.

It took us a few hours but we got it done and 14 bags later (all donated) we were delighted and surprised how good we both felt. Everything feels so much lighter in our house and lives.

Now that we’ve done the clothes, the next area we tackle will be our books. My, oh my, this is going to be fun!

In the not-too-distant future our entire house will have been drastically reduced and every single thing in it will be there for one reason only, and that is because it sparks joy in us.

We love living this way and I love the fact we get to do it together. I created a video of our magnificent pile of stuff (oh yea it’s messy) and how you can do this in your house and life too…

The minute you start clearing out the things that don’t spark joy, you’re life will become¬†simpler and you’ll find yourself so much happier.

Live the life you love!

Peace out,

Tiff
